This monograph examines several key issues that states, school districts, and schools face as they work toward achieving the twin goals of excellence and equity in education for young people navigating the worlds of school and work. It is designed for teachers, counselors, school principals, and others concerned with implementing the school-to-career transition systems which most states are developing. A Business Guide to Support Employee and Family Involvement in Education (from the Conference Board, 1997) This guide provides business leaders and their education and community partners with information and guidance about policies and practices that promote employee and family involvement in education, address workforce and student needs, and support education initiatives with communities. Family Involvement in Children's Education: Successful Local Approaches 1997. This document identifies and describes successful strategies used by 20 local Title I programs that have overcome barriers to parent involvement. This publication suggests ways that schools, families, and communities can work together to build strong partnerships.
